  • This expedition into the Pearl of Africa will introduce you to the stunning landscapes, amazing wildlife, as well as the diverse sights and sounds of Uganda. This journey will take you from the savannahs of northern Uganda, to the lush southwest and then to hilly eastern Uganda. This adventure is guaranteed to enlighten you to the enchanting beauty of Uganda.
  • Unveiling the Pearl is fourteen-day journey which will take you through Murchison Falls National Park for an authentic safari with roaming giraffes, elephants and countless other animals going about their days. A boat ride to the bottom of the Murchison falls will take your breath away, as the power of these falls’ feeds into the Nile. The expedition continues through Kibale Forest in western Uganda for an exciting chimpanzee trekking experience. After a thrilling adventure with the chimps, we explore Queen Elizabeth National Park, taking a game drive and boat trip viewing countless wildlife along the way, such as elephants, hippos, bucks, a variety of birds and so much more! Our trip then takes a turn to the mountainous and cooler region of Uganda, Kabale, where we will explore one of the deepest lakes in Africa, Lake Bunyonyi, which is dotted with terraced islands. Then off to Jinja, where we will raft our way down the white water of the Nile, bungee jump and then a sunset dinner cruise by the source of this mighty river.

Itinerary

You will be welcomed by our company representative upon your arrival at Entebbe airport and transferred to the Lodge where you will unwind. Overnight stay at The Boma Hotel Entebbe – Bed & Breakfast

On day two you will enjoy morning breakfast and drive to Murchison falls national park. It will take you around 6-7 hours from Kampala with about 305 km, with a stopover at the Zziwa rhino sanctuary for a rhino trek (Optional activity). After lunch at the Kabalega dinners, you will enter through Kichumbanyobo gate. Paraa covers about 85km from Masindi town by the shortest route. You will visit the top of the falls and then proceed to your pre-booked accommodation. (6-7Hrs Driving)   On day three you will have an early morning breakfast and then go for a game drive where you will spot various animal species like elephants, giraffes, lions, Uganda Kobs among others. In the afternoon you will go for a launch cruise on the park’s main tourist attraction the unique Murchison Falls as well as the River Nile with its streaming hippo and serried ranges of crocodile along the sandbanks, as well as large numbers of different species getting down to drink & bathe. You will have breakfast and then drive to Kibale forest home of Chimpanzees via major towns like Hoima Kagadi, Kyenjojo and Fort –Portal. This is a full day drive (6-7Hrs). You will have lunch en-route arriving at your accommodation late afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay at Guereza Canopy Forest Camp – Breakfast | Lunch | Dinner

Take early morning breakfast and go for briefing and start chimpanzee trekking. Kibale Forest National Park is one of the best safari destinations in Africa for chimpanzee tracking. Kibale’s 795km2 National Park contains one of the most beautiful and with the most varying tracts of tropical forest in the whole of Uganda. This is place to several forest wildlife, most especially 13 species of primate coupled with chimpanzees. After trekking you will have lunch and then visit Bigodi wetland where you will experience a lot of bird life and un-spoilt nature! Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The drive passes through Fort Portal and then south along the eastern length of The Rwenzori Mountains, with the hope of viewing the glaciated peaks. We gently descend into The Great African Rift Valley and Queen Elizabeth National Park and Mweya Lodge, situated on a peninsula overlooking Lake Edward and Kazinga Channel, offering beautiful views of the park with the Rwenzori Mountains in the background. Queen Elizabeth National Park resides in a fertile, equatorial area and has beautiful scenery. It is Uganda’s most popular and accessible savannah reserve, with a total area of 1978km². It is primarily associated with grassy savannah plains, but this impressive park also includes within its boundaries, leafy rainforests, dense papyrus swamps and natural volcanic crater lakes. As a result, it has one of the highest biodiversity ratings of any game reserve in the world, including a total of 95 recorded mammal species and more then 610 species of birds. Game drives in Queen Elizabeth National Park including a launch trip of about two hours on the Kazinga Channel to view some of the largest concentration of hippo in the world {reported to be about 30,000} and other game with excellent birding. Queen Elizabeth National Park is one of best birding parks in Africa, with 560 + recorded species and a record of 296 bird species seen in one 24-hour period.   For visitors who yearn to get a closer look at African wildlife, while contributing to an important conservation program at the same time, a Lion Tracking research trip can be a rewarding adventure. This unique experience allows visitors to join a research team who track and monitor some of lions in the park though locator devices. The data collected will further the conservation program, while you get a unique and intimate insight into the lives and habits of these fascinating predators. After a relaxed breakfast, your guide will transfer you to the southern sector of queen Elizabeth, which is well know for the tree climbing lions and other wildlife like the spotted hyenas, Leopards, elephants (with large tasks), topi and different species of birds. Dinner & overnight at Enjojo – Breakfast | Lunch | Dinner

After having your morning breakfast, you will set off for Kisoro in south western Uganda the only town bordering three countries of Uganda, Rwanda and D.R. Congo. this journey will see you pass through Bwindi Forest after your morning game drive, which will increase your chances to view more wildlife especially the tree climbing lions. Today we shall carry Lunch boxes with a stopover en-route, arriving in Kisoro at the foot of Mgahinga in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Rushaga Gorilla Camp – Breakfast | Lunch | Dinner

After an early morning breakfast, you will walk to the park headquarters for briefing and go for gorilla trekking, this could take 4-6 hours depending on the movements of the gorillas. After trekking, return for dinner and overnight at dinner and overnight at Rushaga Gorilla Camp – Breakfast | Lunch | Dinner

After your breakfast at the lodge, your guide will transfer you to Mgahinga national park which is a walkable distance from your lodge of about 5-10 minutes to the briefing Centre before your golden monkey trekking experience. On arrival you will be briefed by the ranger guide, on the DOs & DONTS in the park and thereafter head to the bush for monkey business, the trekking may take about 5-7 hours based on the movement of the primates in the bamboos. On your return, you could relax at the lodge or have a walk through the community and late in the evening have an entertainment dance from the batwa community group at the campfire. After your early breakfast, your tour guide will walk you to the briefing Centre where you will meet your ranger & the batwa guide into the dense bamboo forest they call home. When you meet them, you will clearly see the forest in their eyes and lives. With the cultural trail in Mgahinga National Park, you will be able to experience the ancient ways of the Batwa people who once lived within the forest and explore their ancient cultures. The Batwa were the original inhabitants of the forests before Mgahinga and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park were gazette into National Parks in 1991. The dense forests on the foothills of Virunga Volcanoes used to be their comfortable homes where they lived as hunter-gatherers and fierce warriors depending on the forest for food, herbal medicine and food.   After a 6-7 hour experience your tour guide will be patiently waiting to transfer you to your next destination “Lake Bunyonyi” the second deepest lake in Africa estimated to be 900M deep with 29 islands on it. Before your transfer to Lake Mburo, in Bunyonyi their a variety of activities from which you could choose from to do in the morning, like the Quad biking, Ziplining, a boat ride on the deepest lake which sees you visit the 29 islands including the punishment island. Please contact our consultant on this and he/she will advise further on the activities. Then after the morning activities you together with your guide you will transfer to Lake Mburo national park with a stopover in Mbarara town for lunch and arriving in the early evening allowing you to do an evening game drive. (you could also opt for a night game drive which would help you to sight nocturnal animals like the leopards, owls, bush baby’s etc.  Dinner and overnight Rwakobo Rock – Breakfast | Lunch | Dinner
